Cat Guardians is reopening for adoptions by appointment
If you are looking for a new furry friend to add to your home, Cat Guardians can help.
The shelter will be reopening June 2nd by appointment only on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. We ask that you review the cat(s) on our website to determine which cat(s) would be the best fit for your family. Once decided, an adoption application must be completed first and returned electronically before an appointment can be secured. The application can be found here: https://www.catguardians.org/adoption-application/.
The shelter is also adding a few restrictions for those who coming into the shelter:
- * Because our facility is small with the public areas easily congested, we are also limiting the number of visitors to only allow one household at a time. While this may result in a short wait, we appreciate your patience as we work to keep everyone safe.
- * Call us first and a Cat Guardians representative will meet you at the entrance for your feline meet and greet.
- * When entering and exiting the shelter you will be instructed to wash your hands or to use hand sanitizer.
- * We will be requiring that everyone wear some type of face mask (scarf, actual mask, bandana, etc.). If you do not have an item like this available, we will provide you a mask for a $1.00 donation.
Volunteers continue to clean and sanitize surfaces after every appointment and are practicing social distancing. Please note social volunteers are not allowed at shelter at this time. In addition, we are unable to accept bedding or other “soft goods.” However, you can still send much needed animal supplies through Amazon shelter wish lists or by donating monetary funds. More information can be found here: https://www.catguardians.org/donate/.
As always, the well-being of our cats is our top priority and to ensure their care we must protect our staff. We realize this decision will slow down our adoption process but feel it is the best option under the circumstances. Our staff will continue to be in every day to care for the animals, and their quality of care will remain the same.
We thank you for your patience and understanding during this unusual time.
