Success Stories

Over 2000 cats have been adopted from our shelter. This is just a sample of the many lucky cats who found loving homes through our efforts.

Pretty Girl

Pretty Girl

It all came about when Jeanne went to Cat Guardians to pick up the auction basket she had bid on at the Chocolate Sunday event. One of the wonderful volunteers was holding a beautiful, sleek black kitty who immediately reached out, crawling over Jeanne’s shoulders and snuggling into a bear hug. After more kitty kisses [...]

Mama Mia

Mama Mia

Mama Mia was rescued by one of our most dedicated volunteers. When the call came, she rushed over to find a three-legged mother cat with three kittens waiting in a box on a porch. Sadly whether due to malnourishment or poor genes, only one of the kittens survived. Initially extremely shy and scared, along with being sick and malnourished, Mama Mia had a long road ahead of her. Through patience and love from her rescuer, Mama Mia started blossoming. With no warning, Mama Mia’s beloved rescuer suddenly passed away, and Mama Mia needed to learn to adjust to life at the shelter.

Daisy

People say you don’t pick your shelter pet; they pick you. And that was certainly the case with Daisy, a sweet Maine Coon mix who whined for our attention all through our cleaning shift at Cat Guardians. She had just arrived at the shelter, and was in a cage until she got used to sharing a home with so many other cats.

This went on for a couple weeks. Even after she was let out of the cage, she followed my wife & I around begging for attention. She celebrated every pat and scratch behind the ears, and her purr could be heard across the shelter.

Petey

Petey

After living with my Zoey being sick for about 3 years and having to take him in for a final visit, I thought that I couldn’t love another boy kitty again. After a few months of letting my girlie, Xena, be Queen of the household, it was time for her to have a brother or sister. I found Cat Guardians online and I visited the shelter a couple of times and looked at so many beautiful cats. Of course I couldn’t decide but I kept asking where Petey was every time I went. When I first met him, he was so playful. Had a rough side to him but I loved it…so did my Zoey. I finally decided on Petey but I really didn’t know what was happening at the time. Now that we’ve been so happy together, I know that he saved me and not the other way around.
