Cat Guardians has a rotating population of kittens and cats that are available for adoption. If you see a cat on our website that you are interested in meeting, please call or email the shelter prior to your visit to ensure that the cat will be available.
Kittens are cats six months of age or younger. All of our adoptable kittens have been spayed/neutered and given all the medical treatment necessary to give these youngsters a healthy start. Because state law requires us to spay/neuter cats before adoption, we can’t adopt out any kittens until they’re old enough for surgery (4-6 months old).
Adult cats are playful, talkative companions. Like our kittens, the adults in our care receive all necessary medical care and preventative treatments, and all are spayed/neutered. Cat Guardians does not endorse declawing, but cats which came to our shelter as adults may have been declawed by their previous owners.
Senior cats make great pets. They tend to be more affectionate and less wild than younger cats and kittens. Though older, senior cats often go on to provide many years of love once adopted.
“Special needs” cats have health or behavorial issues that may require a home that can give them extra care and attention.
We believe all cats deserve homes, whether they live at our shelter or elsewhere. These cats are available for adoption from other rescue groups and private parties in and around Lombard.
